Team Andermatt Swiss Alps makes outstanding showing at the Alpenbrevet

December 9, 2021

The Alpenbrevet – the individual cycling challenge in the Alps – was held on Saturday, 4 September 2021. A team from Andermatt Swiss Alps also took part in the competition. All of the six racing cycle fans had a successful outing.

The Swiss Cycling Alpenbrevet is the only race where cyclists conquer so many passes and elevation changes on one day. The gold tour starts in Andermatt and goes over the Furka, Nufenen, Lukmanier and Oberalp passes with elevation changes of some 5,000 metres, before returning to Andermatt. The silver tour crosses the Furka, Nufenen and Gotthard passes using the Tremola road with elevation changes of about 3,190 metres.

Six winners

The Alpenbrevet doesn't keep a position table but rather just a list of finishers. But for us, the members of Team Andermatt Swiss Alps are big winners. The five men and one woman all completed the gold or silver tour and returned to Andermatt happy but exhausted after a hard day on their racing cycles.
