Ski season starts on the 9th of November at Gemsstock. The “Sonnenpiste” opens this saturday

November 6, 2019

Thanks to the cold temperatures and snowfall of the last days, we open the two aerial cable cars to Gemsstock at the weekend from Saturday, 9th to Sunday 10th of November.

In a first phase, skiing is only possible on the “Sonnenpiste”, and further facilities and slopes, including the valley run, will gradually be put into operation as far as possible. Until December 1st Gemsstock is open on the weekends and from December 7th daily. Depending on the snow, the skiing area in Disentis will go into weekend operation from 30 November. From 14th December the Andermatt - Oberalppass - Dieni area will be open daily, if the snow conditions permit. From December 20, 2019 the whole area Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis is open.

Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis

The Bergbahnen Disentis AG and the SkiArena Andermatt Sedrun together offer more than 180 kilometers of piste. Since the completion of the ski resort connection, the area is being marketed under Add a plus Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis. The snow-reliable ski area extends to an altitude of 3,000 m above sea level. The ski season lasts 7 months between November and May.

The Bergbahnen Disentis operate in the Disentis area the complete mountain catering and two ski and bike shops. In addition, Bergbahnen Disentis rent over 800 beds in all categories, both in holiday apartments and in hotels.
The SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun also operates 13 mountain restaurants in the Andermatt-Sedrun ski area, as well as a hotel, two restaurants, a bakery and the Andermatt ski and snowboard school in the village of Andermatt. The SkiArena is a subsidiary of the Andermatt Swiss Alps, which in turn leases around 1,200 beds in all categories in Andermatt and operates the Andermatt golf course.
