Architectural contract awarded to CAS Architektur AG, Altdorf
The project for the Vera apartment building was awarded to the architecture firm CAS Architekten. They had previously designed this building in connection with the project competition in 2008 and will now execute it.
CAS Gruppe AG offers the entire value-added chain in the areas of development, architecture and realisation of buildings and sites. The family-run company has roughly 60 employees at the locations in Lucerne, Altdorf, Willisau and Fribourg. The company was founded by René Chappuis in Willisau and Altdorf.
Structural specialities
Influences from the southern and northern Alpine region came together during construction. The natural stone comes from Ticino, and the wood from the canton of Uri and the north of Switzerland. The wavy façade is made of wood and is reminiscent of a wooden ski.
