Successful clean-up evening in Andermatt

May 3, 2023

On May 2, about 25 employees of Andermatt Swiss Alps, the Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen, Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG and the Snowsports School Andermatt met up after work to collect trash in Andermatt Reuss. The evening was a complete success, topped off by pizza and drinks.

The weather cooperated! Under sunny skies and outfitted with gloves and trash bags, about 25 employees set out on Tuesday evening, May 2, to collect trash. After breaking into groups of four or five people, they scoured the area around Andermatt Reuss for trash.

48 trash bags filled with all sorts of items

The trash bags filled up quickly. The teams came across a number of items in the car park, along the Reuss River and on the golf course: cigar butts, Red Bull cans, wine bottles and golf balls – even an American credit card. Ultimately, 48 trash bags of 40 litres each were carted away. That makes 1,920 litres of trash. The teams also collected about 240 kg of heavy material.

Cap-off in the sports bar

Once the trash bags and heavy material were disposed of, everyone headed to the sports bar for pizza and drinks. Had the found credit card been blocked? We’ll check and if not, the cap-off in the sports bar will be paid as a finder's fee. Thanks to all participants for helping out with Tuesday’s clean-up.
